Preparing Your Trip
What shall I bring?
Please check our packing list to see what is included in each cabin and booking, as well as our recommendations on what to bring for your comfort and your best Offgrid experience.
Food, drinks and cooking - What do I need to bring?
In each cabin you’ll find Italian herbs, sea salt, coffee, tea, olive oil and vinegar. Food however we kindly ask you to bring what you prefer and feel like and what your personal diet craves. Shopping ingredients and cooking together is a great way to decompress - so let it be part of your Offgrid experience.
Our founder Björn is a passionate hobby chef, he made sure that you’ll find a perfectly equipped kitchen (including proper kitchen knives) in each of our cabins. Happy cooking. :)
Can I drink the tap water in the cabin?
We use fresh tap water to fill our Offgrid cabins. For additional safety we re-filter this water again by using a triple water filter caravan system before it comes out of the kitchen/bathroom tap and shower. We personally drink our filtered cabin water and use it for tea, coffee cooking our pasta etc. If you are sensitive to this off-the-grid water system however, please feel free to bring your own water just in case.
Towels, shower gel, tea and coffee?
Yes, everything is provided for you and included in your booking. For your morning routine we have a Bialetti with espresso coffee and Yogi tea. To stay fresh we provide small and large towels as well as organic hand soap, shower gel and shampoo.
Do I have 230V electricity in my cabin?
Yes. All of our cabins provide 230V of electricity. In addition you find USB charging ports.
All our cabins are powered by solar energy. With that said, please be mindful of your energy usage to be sure you will have uninterrupted power throughout your stay. Please note that wall plugs are not suitable for larger appliances. Thank you for your cooperation.
I cannot find the exact location of the cabin I want to book?
Yes, that's true. For the privacy of current guests, we send you the exact location and address of your cabin after your confirmed booking and 24 hrs before your stay. You can find the general direction, estimated travel time, and nearest larger in the cabin description.
How do I get to my Offgrid cabin? Do I need a car? Can I take the train? Ride my bike?
We recommend taking a car. However all of our locations are also reachable via train and bus, or train and taxi, or train and bicycle. You can find the general direction, estimated travel time, and nearest larger in the cabin description.
We believe the journey to the cabin is an essential part of your Offgrid experience. To slow down, leave the city behind and decompress with each minute that goes by.
Where can I park my car? Can I drive up to my cabin?
Your parking spot will vary depending on the location of the cabin. There's no direct access to the cabin by car, so you can start your adventure early. Walking (just a few minutes) to your cabin - we believe – adds to your adventure out in nature. Don't worry, we provide a nice cart at your parking space for you to easily transport your supplies to the cabin.
Can I drive right next to my cabin?
Unfortunately not. To easily transport your supplies and luggage to the cabin, however, we provide a nice hand cart at your parking space for you.
Preserving nature and the animals' habits is a top priority for us. In addition to that, for your Offgrid experience we feel it makes a huge difference to take a little stroll and walk a few hundred meters from the parking area – to decompress, digitally disconnect and start arriving mentally and emotionally from your city life in the natural surroundings of your cabin. To feel the fresh air, the wind, the outside temperature and everything that surrounds you visually and acoustically. We truly recommend that. :)
Also please note, that any damages to the grounds or surrounding areas may incur a fine. Thank you for your understanding.
During Your Stay
How do I check in / get into my cabin?
Keyless. Cabin-access with your PIN code will be possible from 15:00 h onwards.
24 hours prior to your arrival, you will receive an email with your personal access code to your cabin door. You will also find this detail in your digital travel guide prior to check-in.
How and when do I check out?
Check-out is by 11:00 h.
Also, depending on the next guest's arrival, we may be able to offer you a late check-out. So please do not hesitate to ask and we’ll see what we can do for you on the day.
Do I have WiFi?
All cabins are equipped with free WiFi. It however is all about finding the right balance between disconnecting and staying connected.
What are composting dry toilets?
Our cabins are carefully designed to be 100% off-the-grid, environmentally sustainable and have as little impact on the environment as possible. This includes the presence of modern composting toilets. These toilets operate very similarly to yours at home with the exception of the flushing sound and that they separate liquids from solids.
How do I heat the cabin? Do I need to bring firewood?
All our cabins are equipped with modern wood burning stoves and in some cabins underfloor heating in the bathrooms. In addition, all of our cabins are equipped with extra insulation to keep you comfy and cozy during your stay.
Firewood is free of charge and of course included in your booking.
I am out in nature, but what about emergencies?
While we encourage disconnecting, we understand the importance of having a way to communicate in emergencies. All of our cabins are located in areas of phone reception - however this can vary depending on your provider.
Also please note, due to the high insulation that we use in the walls, reception inside the cabin might not be ideal. Which might be a good reason to switch your phone off inside. Stepping outside the cabin will then enable you to make calls.
